We communicated back in December that we would look to fully reopen our middle and high school as soon as
possible. We will be fully reopening beginning March 22nd for the 4th quarter.
We have been evaluating the new
CDC guidance and our most recent health benchmarks from the AZ Department of Health. As of February 18th,
Mohave County has begun to significantly decline in all three benchmark areas.
Elementary schools CURRENTLY OPEN to full attendance.
Our in-person learning students will return to a full schedule including specials classes, lunch, and recess. We will continue to focus on the mitigation strategies that reduce the transmission of COVID19 such as handwashing, extra sanitizing, and social distancing to the greatest extent possible.
Students and staff will continue to be required to wear a face-covering until the Arizona Health Department removes this requirement (please see Executive Order 2020-51).
Secondary schools CURRENTLY OPEN in a hybrid model.
Thunderbolt Middle School
Hybrid learning is an opportunity for your student to attend all classes in person two days per week. Students will receive academic instruction from their teachers for two consecutive days.
The other three at-home days will have assigned independent practice, reading, and/or writing accessible in Google Classroom and sent home in paper form.
While this year continues to present challenges, we look forward to welcoming our students and staff back as soon as possible with some added precautions to address the safety and well-being of our school community while continuing our commitment to a focus on scholarship, character, and humanity.
For detailed information, please view the updated student and staff reopening roadmaps above.
Meal Availability / Pickup
Free Breakfast and Lunch to all students
With an extension from the USDA, we can now provide free breakfast and lunch to all students - through the end of the 20-21 school year.
Drive-thru pick-up of free meals (daily breakfast and lunch meal bag) will be available to ALL CHILDREN 18 AND UNDER. Parents may pick up meals without students being present.
This pickup is intended for online learners and/or siblings who are not currently in school.
Breakfast and lunch are being served for in-person learners, at their respective schools.
